Pathway to Health Aim

The Project aim of P2H is to put in place community interventions that will increase physical activity levels (particularly among the targeted groups of Maori, youth and families) through both structured and unstructured means.

What is pathway to Health?

Pathway to Health is a new initiative to get more people, more active, more often, lifelong in the Eastern BOP.
There are three coordinators in BOP one in Kawerau, Whakatane and Opotiki.
P2H have a collaborative effort of funders the main one being SPARC.

Some Opotiki Pathway to Health Initiatives to date include:

  • Opotiki Mini Motu
  • Launch and Opening of BayTrust sports pavilion
  • P2H Roadshow
  • Opotiki Let’s ‘Du’ it Opotiki Duathlon
  • Bike Week
  • Mayoral Bike ride
  • Go by bike day breakfast
