Pouwhenua, Waiōtahe Beach

The Pouwhenua (welcome poles) located at Waiōtahe Beach near the surf club were carved by Heke Collier. They depict ‘Te ara ki te tairawhiti’, ‘The pathway to the sunrise’.

 

Hukutaia Domain

A short and gorgeous bush walk where you will find an ancient puriri tree, over 2000 years old.

 

Ōpōtiki Wharf

The Ōpōtiki wharf offers a great place to fish, swim and relax. The wharf also features rope swings and a slide. It is also part of the Ōpōtiki stop bank walkway.

 

Dunes Trail

The Dunes Trail is a walkway/cycle trail which begins at the Pakowhai ki Otutaopuku Bridge, located at the Ōpōtiki war memorial.
